Improving the Participation of Preschool Children’s Mothers in Fluoride Varnish Program: An Educational Intervention

Introduction: Tooth decay is the most prevalent chronic childhood disease. Fluoride tooth restoration a common method of controlling decay, but misconceptions in this area prevent family involvement. Therefore, aim study was to determine effect educational interventions on participation preschool children’s mothers fluoride varnish program. Methods: This an interventional performed 176 children Yazd 2020. Participating were randomly selected and divided into intervention control groups. The research tool researcher-made questionnaire with confirmed validity reliability. It included demographic variables 4 sections awareness, facilitators, barriers, behavior. Intervention groups completed questionnaires before two months after intervention. Chi-square, Mann-Whitney, Kruskal-Wallis, Spearman correlation tests, as well repeated measures analysis variance generalized estimating equations model used for data analyses. Results: proportion people who participated program same both (35.2 37.5), intervention, percentage whose more group (88.6 51.1, P<0.0001). Conclusion: findings positive increasing To better cooperate involve families oral health programs schools, thinkers field should be fully justified provide timely training interventions.
